GUEST OVERVIEW: Tamela Veronique began her career in the non-profit world as a volunteer with the American Red Cross over 20 years ago. That experience fuelled her passion. She has worn many hats as a volunteer with several non-profits; as a strategic planner, grant writer, fundraiser, coach, program developer, organizational assessor, facilitator, trainer, and mentor. She spent seven years of her career as a sales representative for an educational publishing company. She has a passion for connecting with underrepresented communities, listening and accepting their truths, and interpreting their genuine experiences into palatable chunks for decision-makers. She has put her passion into works by: advocating at the state capitol for strengthening college readiness for low-income students creating awareness for community programs coordinating over 100 local youth to experience Dodger Blue organizing various community events building partnerships between local non-profits and the University of La Verne, her alma mater.
