On today's show, Maria Janssen discusses why she had to leave the "free west" and her experience working as a journalist on both sides of the new iron curtain.

GUEST OVERVIEW: Maria Jansen worked as journalist for RT Germany. She is a Russian Ukrainian from the Donbas. Her family and relatives still live there. Of course her heritage and her first hand knowledge of the war influences her perspective, but she never simply parroted the official Russian version. To ask Masha, as her friends know her meant getting a honest answer. When RT Germany was shut down due to German sanctions against Russian media, she moved as one of the meanwhile many to Moscow and is now a blogger. She was a free spirit in RT and it is interesting to hear first hand why she had to leave the „free west“ and what her experience is working as a journalist on both sides of the new iron curtain.
