GUEST OVERVIEW: Joost Strydom is serving as the Head of the Orania Movement, the “idea-movement” behind Orania. Joost is originally from a small town in Kwazulu-Natal, called Bergville, but moved to Orania with his family in the 1990s. He holds a bachelor’s degree with communication and social anthropology as main subjects, and is currently studying Economic, Politics and Philosophy while working. Joost is enthusiastic about alternative ideas and sustainability, and enjoys endurance sports, organic farming and localised politics.
