David Legates on Unleashed with Marc Morano - 03 May 2024
GUEST OVERVIEW: David Legates is a Climatologist who specializes in precipitation and climate change as well as spatial statistics.
Upon receiving his PhD, Legates became a Professor at the University of Oklahoma. He later moved to Louisiana State University and subsequently returned to the University of Delaware. Recently, he was on leave to the federal government where he served as the Assistant Deputy Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction and was detailed to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy as the Executive Director of the United States Global Change Research Program.
Legates has been invited to speak to the U.S. Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works on three separate occasions. He also participated in the historic joint USA-USSR protocol for the exchange of climate information. He is now Professor Emeritus from the University of Delaware and works for the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation.
Legates received his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and PhD from the University of Delaware.
