GUEST OVERVIEW: C. J. Hopkins is an American playwright, novelist, and political satirist. He currently lives in Berlin. His satirical articles are not only cherished by English speaking expats but by many Germans as well. His new book Rise of the New Normal Reich deals with the reactions to COVID 19 in Germany and features a cover with a mask that has a swastica imprinted in it. It resulted in him receiving a letter from a German state attorney, because the use of the swastika is condidered nazi propaganda in Germany, an offence to be punished by up to 3 years in jail. It is hard not to write satire at times just as Juvenal discovered 2000 years ago while living in the Roman Empire. Times have changed drastically. We now live in a different empire. And Germany is it´s vassal.
