GUEST OVERVIEW: Andrew MacLeod is Non-Executive Chairman of British based Griffin Law, Non-Executive Director at Burnham Global, founding Director of child protection charity Hear their Cries and a Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellow at Deakin University. Andrew advises several companies on their stakeholder relations and external risks, is a member of the Chatham House/ICRC Expert Panel on Humanitarian Negotiations with Non-State Armed Groups. Andrew served in the Balkans and Rwanda during the 1990s and set up and ran Law of Armed Conflict training with military unit that resulted in a measurable decrease in civilian casualties.

GUEST OVERVIEW: David McBride is facing 50 years in prison for blowing the whistle on the Australian Defence Force’s leadership. David served in Afghanistan as a military lawyer to the Royal Australian Regiment and Australian Special Forces respectively. Over his two deployments, he became increasingly concerned that the war was dictated by politics rather than the best interests of Australians and Australian soldiers. He saw the Rule of Law and the rules of war not being followed, and indeed being breached. David submitted an internal report in 2014. After seeing no effective action, he disclosed documents to the ABC in 2016. GUEST OVERVIEW: David Truman has an honours degree in Russian Language and literature and Political Science, and teaches Russian history, literature and language, and Indonesian, at the University of the Third Age. He spent a year on postgrad exchange at Moscow State University during the Cold War in the late 1960s, and 30 years in as a policy adviser and ministerial speechwriter. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, he has visited Russia four more times totalling over three months and is impressed at Russia’s strident rejection of the Cultural Marxism which has marched through the institutions of the West. David is also an expert in Islamic history, scriptures and doctrines.

GUEST OVERVIEW: John Ruddick is the lead NSW Senate Candidate for the Liberal Democrats. In the mid 1990s John was a staffer for Ross Cameron MP and since 2000 has worked as a self-employed mortgage broker. John joined the Liberal Democrats in mid 2021 after three decades of involvement with the NSW Liberal Party. In 2018 he published Make the Liberal Party Great Again which advocated for democratic reform within that party. He joined the Liberal Democrats after being shocked by the Morrison government’s over-reaction to COVID and the accompanying $1.2 trillion of Commonwealth debt and a capitulation on a fanciful net-zero carbon economy.
