Bev Jackson on The Alan Miller Show - 15 July 2023

GUEST OVERVIEW: Bev Jackson is a lifelong progressive activist. She was a founding member of the UK Gay Liberation Front in 1970, worked in the anti-Apartheid movement and other progressive causes. She is a strong advocate for refugee rights. In 2019 she became increasingly alarmed by the collapse of what had once been the gay rights movement. She met Kate Harris and together they founded LGB Alliance. Professionally, Bev lectured in English literature at the University of Amsterdam, and later became an academic translator. She lives with her wife and dog in Amsterdam, with the rest of the family within cycling distance.

He is also a broadcaster and the author of several books and predicts the future economics, technology and sociology of innovation, specialising in energy, IT, transport and the office. An editor of Design magazine and a founder of Blueprint, he was later head of worldwide market intelligence at Philips consumer electronics, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. James wrote about North Sea oil for The Economist, and is co-author of Energise! A future for energy innovation (Beautiful Books, 2009). In making keynote speeches and consulting about energy, he has worked for Accenture, Arup, BDR Thermea/Baxi, Geothermal Engineering Ltd, the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies, National Grid and SAP. Before joining the University of Leicester she taught European and comparative politics and international relations at the University of Westminster and Brunel University. Dr McCormack's research focuses on security foreign policy and legitimacy.
